My first time was awkward.  I didn’t really know what I was doing and I hoped it didn’t show… online dating was very new to me.

Lucky for me and my internet skillz, I think I’ve got it figured out.  I’ve been at this game for, oh I don’t know, 24 hours now, and instant messaging makes more sense and sending smiles are simple… not that I’ve done either.  You know, it’s not that I’m not against dating people online, I’ve heard many success stories and I think it can work.  But when I log in for the day to check it out and my first message reads, “Have you ever been hypnotized?” that sketches a sista out!

But that’s just one guy.  I believe there are tons of great people out there posting up on their laptops holding on to the hope of finding the one, and good for them.  I think the biggest struggle for me though is getting past the fact that it IS online and different from anything I’ve ever experienced.  With a few more days practice maybe it would become easier, but for now I’m still guarded.

While I’m still collecting my thoughts on this new-age dating world, I’m determined to get other opinions.  Are you for it or against it?  Have you had a bad experience online?  Has it lead to marriage, or maybe a great friend?  The possibilities are limitless online because there are so many of us out there.  The key, I think, is an open mind, a great picture, and swift typing skills.

If you’re a BlueEyez4587 looking for a Sporty.Guy8977, I want to hear_from_you!  Check out the AXE Facebook page and share your intimate Internet stories.  Are you turned off by online or are you aroused by avatars?

Logging off,

Jaime
